Choosing Cylinder Heads For Maximum Performance At An Affordable Price!

Edelbrock Cylinder Heads

Choosing cylinder heads for your high performance engine: Here again, bigger isn't always better, especially for street use. If running a lower-displacement small block like a 283 Chevy or 289 Ford in your daily driver and occasionally hit the track for some weekend fun, more conservative castings such as Edelbrock's Performer series heads are more than adequate. But if your mill is a beefy Mopar 340 small-block or a Chevy 427 big-block, Edelbrock's Victor Jrs. would make more sense.

Conservative port sizing with greater velocity for good, low-end torque is better for the street, where large ports are better for high-rpm race use.
